RED? a colour conversation

Red hot! Red is associated with warmth, excitement, stimulation, energy, strength, power and physical courage.

Red’s symbolic meanings include: life, health, vigour, war, anger and love. These qualities require passion, and the ‘life force’ that drives passion blood is red.

Being primal, and associated with our survival instincts, red can exude a bold and powerful masculine energy. This passionate colour tends to be used to communicate lust and sensuality.

Hoping to turn you on, some brands use red for 'order now' buttons on their websites, or packaging as a way to stand out on the shelf. Red branding also triggers the appetite and is an excellent colour for food products and restaurants.

Negatively, red is, aggressive and angry, domineering, over-bearing and quick-tempered, ruthless, fearful and iIntolerant, it’s rebellious and obstinate, resentful, violent and brutal

Due to its high level of energy it can become overwhelming and tiring.

Colour is only one element of your brand’s personality, and no one colour is going to say everything you want it to say without a proper context.
